These are questions Full Stack Developer candidates often hear, with a short note on what a strong answer covers. Reading them helps; saying your answers out loud helps more.

  1. Walk me through a feature you built end to end.

Cover the database, API and UI, plus one trade-off you made and why.

  2. Where should validation happen: frontend, backend, or both?

Both: frontend for user experience, backend because the client can't be trusted.

  3. How do you decide what to render on the server versus the client?

Mention SEO, first-load speed, interactivity and caching.

  4. How would you add login to an app that has none?

Discuss sessions vs tokens, password hashing, reset flow and protecting routes on both sides.

  5. Tell me about a time you had to learn a new tool quickly.

Show how you learned, how fast you became useful, and what you delivered.

  6. How do you test a feature that touches the database, API and UI?

Mention unit, integration and end-to-end tests and which risks each one covers.
