Mobile Developer interview questions

These are questions Mobile Developer candidates often hear, with a short note on what a strong answer covers. Reading them helps; saying your answers out loud helps more.

  1. How do you handle a poor or lost network connection in a mobile app?

Discuss offline caching, retries, clear user messages and syncing later.

  2. How would you find why an app feels slow when scrolling?

Mention profiling tools, main-thread work, image sizes and list virtualisation.

  3. Native, React Native or Flutter: how would you choose for a new app?

Tie the choice to team skills, performance needs and platform features.

  4. How do you store sensitive data on a phone?

Name the Keychain or Keystore, avoid plain storage, and minimise what you keep.

  5. Walk me through releasing an app update to the stores.

Cover testing, versioning, staged rollout, review times and crash monitoring.

  6. Tell me about a crash you fixed after release.

Explain how you found it, the root cause, and how you stopped it recurring.
